Many people enjoy the shock that they get their morning cup of joe. For some of us, the thought of waking up without that first cup is almost unbearable! But what about tea? So many people try to get used to their morning “fix” is a growing wave of interest in the caffeine content in green tea.
On the surface, tea can act as a viable alternative for those seeking Caffeinated beverages from their diet, but in reality, all true tea have some form of this powerful incentive.
The average 8 oz. cup of coffee contains about 95 mg caffeine, while the same 8 oz. cup of green tea contains about 30-50 mg per 8 oz. serving.
People with sensitivities to this stimulant often report feelings of jitteriness or heart palpitations after drinking coffee. But those who have the same feelings, that this ancient Chinese drink often report no side effects.
How is this possible?
Well, studies have shown that two phytochemical compounds found in leaves, L-Thea Nine and Epigallocatechin gallates (ECGC) can help reduce the effects of caffeine content in green tea - to facilitate equivalent to that of the sensitivities of these stimulants. Evidence even suggests that EGCG has the ability to bind to the promoters used to neutralize its jittery side effects.
The presence of these two antioxidants are facilitating the typical restlessness, insomnia, serious Caffeinated beverages seem to have.
Drinking this drink is also reassuring, but it is moderately Caffeinated, claimed to have calming effects as well. This is also one of the amino acids found in leaves, L-Thea Nine. L Thea Nine has been shown in studies to help regulate different brains chemicals that are linked to human moods, such as serotonin and dopamine. This amino acid is an important element of the young, unfermented leaves to help promote relaxation.
There are ways to minimize caffeine content in green tea if you extremely sensitive to stimulants, and still enjoy your brew!
Try to throw your first infusion of the leaves. This will be the caffeine content in green tea by several milligrams with each successive crop soft. Also buying a higher quality loose leaves instead of tea bag can also help to reduce the content of the drink, they often contain fillers smaller teas.
